Save the earth: Recycle, reduce and re-use
Autor postu St Chads primary, South Africa na 3 czerwiec 2018
Post odnoszący się do Thirsty paper,

In preparation for the upcoming Trashion the St Chad Eco-club decided to re-use cardboard boxes to make eye catching paper bead bracelets. In our lesson everything was used out of existing waste, even old discarded lolli pop sticks gained purpose as a dowel to wrap the paper beads. This is recycling lesson is one component of a very effective recycling campaign operating at the school and driven by Coco Cola. Children clearly understand not just the water footprint of recyclable waste but also how, what and why we need to recycle. There is a comprehensive waste management plan and once a month material in the form of tins, paper, plastic and cardboard is collected from the school earning much needed revenue and assisting the school implement good action projects for both SEEP ( School Environmental Education Program) and Water Explorer. The school next step in the process is to calculate kilograms of paper saved and thus secret water saved. If one A4 paper uses 10 litres of water to make, a reel of paper containing 500 papers or 5000 litres of water weighs equivalent to roughly 1 kg, just think of how many litres of water will be saved with many kgs of paper is recycled monthly…now that’s an idea worth spreading.
