Congratulations to the Water Explorer Team EKO PG 1 PIONKI in Poland on being this week’s Global Team of the Week.
The Team from Publiczne Gimnazjum Nr 1 in Pionki has shown considerable talent in getting their whole community involved in sustainable water issues, taking their values, skills and enthusiam for water out from the school into the community at large whenever possible . To start with, they performed a touching play at a young talents charity concert to collect funds for new water wells in Somalia and Southern Sudan. Then, at the family community festival the present team was joined by the first and second year team members to perform their water raps on stage! The team also presented seven stands with experiments and water activities at a community Earth Day event.
The Team has even managed to use their newly developed skills and knowledge to help their local community to deal with an environmental disaster which occurred when sewerage from a local plant was accidently leaked into the local river. There was need for residents to lower their sewage input and the team was right there, putting helpful leaflets into letter boxes and sharing tips on neighbourhood noticeboards.
Congratulations to the Water Explorers. Keep up the wonderful water saving work!
